SURFTOWN and DOYMA Curaflex Nova® Uno

Hallbergmoos, Germany

O₂ SURFTOWN MUC, Germany’s first and Europe’s largest surf park, was built in Hallbergmoos near Munich. Surfers can practice riding waves on an area of approximately 20,000 m². With the help of 34 individually adjustable air chambers, waves up to 2.2 meters high are generated, offering a whole new dimension to the surfing experience—comparable to surfing in the ocean, but right on Munich’s doorstep.

Surfing for Beginners and Pros

O₂ SURFTOWN MUC is designed for all surfing enthusiasts and offers a wide range of surfing options suitable for both beginners and experienced pros. In addition to the surfing facilities, there are spaces for events and gatherings centered around the sport of surfing, allowing the project to combine sports and recreational activities in a single location.

DOYMA was also involved in the project’s implementation and supplied sealing systems and building penetrations for it.

Finally, we have a place in Germany where we can train under ideal conditions and continue to develop the sport—everything we need right on our doorstep.

Rock Capital Group GmbH of Grünwald, acting as both investor and project developer, carried out the project, while the Munich-based architectural firm Henn was responsible for the architectural design. The structural engineering was handled by Rauch Diplomingenieure GmbH of Munich. As part of the project, one of the key tasks was to seal building penetrations against both non-pressurized and pressurized water. DOYMA supplied Curaflex Nova® Uno sealing systems for this purpose. Installation was carried out by Aquatherm Technik GmbH of Aschheim.
