The Hamburg-Finkenwerder airfield is located in the southwest of Hamburg on the Elbe and serves as a special landing site on the premises of Airbus Operations GmbH. the Airbus operations site is located around 10 km west of Hamburg city center as the crow flies. It belongs to the district of Finkenwerder and thus to the district of Hamburg-Mitte. The airfield also has a runway on which around 10 to 15 aircraft take off and land every working day as part of test and delivery flights as well as material transports and factory air traffic.
Ready for take-off
The Hamburg-Finkenwerder airfield is the site of all Airbus A318, A319, A321 and part of the A320, which are finally assembled in Hamburg and delivered to customers. Since 2007, Airbus A380s have been flying to this airfield to carry out interior fitting, painting and delivery. The airfield also plays a central role in coordinating logistics and technical support for all Airbus models that are completed here.
An A380 takes off or lands every three minutes.

The renovation of the shaft structures on the Deutsche Airbus premises was planned by Airbus Operation GmbH from Hamburg and implemented together with trading partner HTI Cordes & Graefe KG from Stuhr. Curaflex® C-40 and Curaflex® C/S sealing inserts (special design) were used to ensure the safe sealing of the building. The professional installation of the pressurized water-tight media pipe seal was carried out by the contractors Köster GmbH from Osnabrück and Rode from Wischhafen, who used their experience to ensure a reliable and durable seal.
