Elbphilharmonie

Hamburg

The Elbphilharmonie Hamburg was officially opened on January 11 and 12, 2017. In the Elbe river, surrounded on three sides by water, the concert hall is a magnet for all Hamburg residents and guests from all over the world. It is a total work of art consisting of breathtaking architecture, excellent musical acoustics and a unique location. The new glass building with its boldly curved roof landscape rises from the base of the former quayside warehouse at the western tip of Hafencity.

Unparalleled architecture

The spectacular building combines three concert halls, a large music education area, restaurants, a hotel and the public plaza, which offers visitors a unique panoramic view of the entire city. Artistic quality, diversity and accessibility characterize the musical programme of Hamburg's new cultural landmark.

The Elbphilharmonie was designed by Herzog & de Meuron from Basel, Switzerland and Höhler + Partner from Hamburg. DOYMA was asked to seal the building entries and provide preventive structural fire protection and supplied Curaflex® type C and C/0 sealing systems as well as Curaflam® XS Pro fire protection sleeves and Curaflam® 2x A BSHB combinations via its trading partner Hermann Stitz & Co KG in Barsbüttel. The professional installation was carried out by Franke, Baehr & Ritter from Dessau.
