The children's and youth education center "Winfriedhaus" is located in the Osterzgebirge, about 30 km south of Dresden. The Winfriedhaus Schmiedeberg is run by the Catholic Church. The house owes its name to St. Boniface, the most famous Christian missionary and the most important church reformer in France.
Children, teenagers and young adults are invited here to spend time together, engage in conversation and share questions about life. Numerous courses are offered by the diocese's pastoral care for children and young people. The Winfriedhaus is also a meeting place for children and youth trips, educational and school trips, choir and orchestra trips, conferences, seminars and workshops.
The former Winfriedhaus was renovated, rebuilt and extended in 2019.
The farewell to the Winfriedhaus for 1.5 years was duly celebrated with over 200 people.
The two former outbuildings and the hall building were demolished, rebuilt and extended with two further buildings. The new bright and friendly colors of the house invite you to linger and come in. The colors were deliberately chosen to express joie de vivre and have a calming and harmonizing effect.
Encounter and community. The Winfriedhaus promotes community.

The architects Hahn und Kollegen GmbH, Dresden, were responsible for planning the extension to the Winfriedhaus. The structural challenge was to seal the existing pipe waterproofing against pressing water using lining pipes made of asbestos-free fiber cement. For this purpose, several DOYMA Curaflex® sealing inserts were supplied by the trading partner Rainholdshainer Raiffeisen Handels GmbH, Reinholshain-Dippoldiswalde, which were specially installed to protect against pressing water. The installation was carried out by the construction company Bau Dresden - Gruna GmbH, Dresden.
