Outbuilding of the SAP data centre in Walldorf.

SAP Data Center (WDF51)

Walldorf, Germany

SAP has built a new data center in Walldorf, Baden-Württemberg. The new building at the main site now complements the performance of the two existing centers in St. Leon-Rot. 86 km of copper cable and 175 km of fiber optic cable were laid over an area of around 20,000 m². In addition to offices, eight computer rooms were built, which increase the capacity by 8 MW - the equivalent of around 90,000 PCs.

The data center is supplied with 100% renewable energy.

Customers in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and throughout southern Germany will benefit from the fast connection of their data, which SAP manages in the cloud. SAP promises maximum security thanks to an emergency power supply and protection against attacks.

This is where the cloud becomes very real, this is where it comes down to earth

The architectural firm BPA GmbH Beratung from Gäufelden / Nebingen was responsible for planning the SAP data center in Walldorf. The structural challenge was that, due to the high groundwater level, it had to be ensured that the building was watertight under pressure. For this purpose, DOYMA supplied Curaflex® C sealing systems, Curaflex Nova® Uno and Curaflex® 3000 lining pipes via its trading partner HTI Eisen-Rieg KG from Ludwigshafen, which were installed by the contractor Heberger Bau GmbH from Schifferstadt.
