Schönefeld has developed exceptionally well, more so than almost any other surrounding community in Berlin. Since reunification, the population of this friendly town has tripled. Schönefeld has invested well since then: In schools, daycare centers, culture and leisure facilities, in jobs and infrastructure.
At the same time, Schönefeld is embedded in an attractive natural landscape that invites exploration: The Diedersdorfer Heide nature reserve, the forest and lake area around Müggelsee or the nearby Spreewald forest offer recreation and relaxation in everyday life.
