Since 1895, everything in the family business from Herford has revolved around the art of chocolate. Founded as a cookie factory, Ludwig Weinrich GmbH & Co KG has developed over four generations to become the premium manufacturer of organic and Fairtrade chocolate in East Westphalia today. Around 400 employees are constantly refining sophisticated recipes to inspire their customers with the fascinating variety of chocolate.

Credo of the family business
As part of the conversion and expansion of the company, a new tank farm was built, which was connected to the company building via a total of eleven underground pipes. The engineering office for building technology, Steinhagen GeBauTec GmbH, and the architectural office BKS Architekten from Bielefeld, planned the use of DOYMA sealing systems to seal the penetrations. The structural challenge was to seal the DN 200 and DN 250 media pipes for heating, chocolate filling and the removal and supply of cocoa butter and cocoa butter so that they were watertight under pressure. For this purpose, DOYMA supplied a special design consisting of a Curaflex® 7006 and Curaflex® 8000 multi-plate design in combination with a total of 22 Curaflex® C sealing inserts via its trading partner HTI Cordes & Graefe KG from Gütersloh. The contractor, Dahmen Netze from Bielefeld, installed the DOYMA special construction.
