Axel-Springer new building

The official start of construction for the new Axel-Springer building in Berlin was on October 6, 2016 - exactly 50 years after the opening of the golden publishing tower. A new, impressive Axel Springer SE publishing building for up to 3,500 employees was built on the 10,000 square meter site between Schützen, Zimmer and Jerusalemer Straße.

The Axel Springer family in Berlin is moving closer with the new building. This enables closer networking and a better exchange of knowledge. The extraordinary architecture not only represents the future of work, it is also a symbol of Axel Springer's digital transformation.

The design for the modern office building comes from the renowned Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas (Office for Metropolitan Architecture = OMA), who prevailed in a previous planning competition against 17 architectural firms and was edited by Ed. Züblin AG, a company of the STRABAG-group.

The light-flooded building in the shape of a cube is being built in the immediate vicinity of the two high-rise buildings and the Axel Springer Passage. The interior of the building will be characterized by interconnected terraces and a 45 meter high atrium. Tinted glass surfaces and components in 3D look will form the facade.

Elaboration and support in the construction of multi-panel constructions of the Curaflex version 7000 according to DIN 18195 in connection with the use of a special sealing membrane.

There had to be a perfectly technical and functional (pressing water / black tub / sealing in front of the wall) as well as dimensionally accurate (according to planning documents).

A plate construction with multiple sealing function was designed and manufactured. Field of application on site - sprinkler tank sealing.  

The use of the DOYMA multi-plate construction with fixed and loose flange 7006 / M / S as a special construction specially made for the application.

Pressurized pipe penetrations in combination with the separately supplied DOYMA Nova Uno® sealing inserts.
