Accessory set for thick coatings (1776)
Scope of application
The contact surfaces / inner surfaces of the fixed and loose flanges of the products Curaflex® 5000, C / 2 / SD / 5, F / 2 / SD / 5 and the products Curaflex® 6000, 7000, 8000, C / 2 / SD / 6 and F / 2 / SD / 6 are sanded. WEROPOX-EP Primer No. 6142 with Hardener 6141-H serves as carrier material for the solder sand.
The area around the bores or around the bolts, where the O-rings and the washers come to rest, must not be sanded. Diameter of these surfaces: 40 mm for non-pressing water, 55 mm for pressing water.
Sanding is not required for the Curaflex® casing pipes 4006. The thick bitumen coating must be applied in several layers according to the manufacturer's instructions. After the first layer has been applied, the fleece insert, which is 100 mm larger than the fixed flange, is pressed into the still wet layer. The fleece insert is then filled in wet-on-wet, so that the minimum dry layer thickness for the given load case is reached. After the drying time specified by the manufacturer, the bitumen filler, depending on the design of the fixed and loose flange construction, is applied in the area of the threaded holes or bolts, e.g. punched out with a punch.
Between the flanges there are spacer rings of 4 mm thickness, for Curaflex® products against pressurized water and 3 mm thick spacer rings for Curaflex® products against non-pressurized water around each bolt. This prevents the entire bitumen filler from being squeezed out when the loose flange is tightened, thus achieving a defined layer thickness of the bitumen filler between the fixed and loose flange.
Rubber O-rings are also arranged around the bolts and around the spacer rings to prevent any pressure losses in the region of the bolts.
Product components
Consisting of spacer rings, O-rings and fleece insert. These parts are matched to the dimensions and bolt circles of the selected fixed / loose flange construction.
Hole punch for thick coating available separately for (optional):
- in case of pressing water 1777/6
- in case of non-pressing water 1777/5
